Little joe's magic johnson
Waddup uggs,
My band, Little Joe's Magic Johnson, is workin' out the kinks in the low-budget recording process to get out our 1st demo an, subsequently, our 1st CD.
This is my first band. The recordings (that can be found here) are all original songs. All songs were written by the acoustic and elec twangers. But, all bass lines are made by my brain.
Any and all criticism (+ or -) will be greatly appreciated (sp?).
We recently played at a bar/grill opening up for my bass teachers band (purely by coinsidence) (here they are) late last month and are now making regular appearances there. Local music tv shows are taping us. It's pretty damn cool.
If you wanna know, here's my gear:
Hartke 2200 Professional Bass Cabinet (300 Watts, 2x12 in.)
Behringer BX3000T Ultrabass Bass Amplifier Head (300 Watts)
Warwick Corvette Standard 4 string
Rotosound Jazz Bass Flatwounds (45-105)
Give me feedback!!!!!......please ![]()
thats kind of hard right now. our recording setup us the lead, acoustic, bass and drums (elec) all go through one amp into his computer. that makes the whole thing go in as one track. we're scrapping togeather $$ to improve that.
Me like. You sound like you landed on of those lucky gigs that is panning out for ya. The demos are pretty cool, but I would def. get your recording situation straightend out asap. It just seems like having a good solid demo would be good for you guys with the attention yall are getting right now.
Dude, for your first attempt, way schweet! My first attempt sounded like arse in a can! You guys got some real groove goin on too, way cool in my book. ![]()
pretty damn cool for your first attempt!!! I would suggest taking another pass at your mixes- try to even things out a bit- like in the second song- the guit is too damn loud, actually breaks-up, and the vocals are drowned out. I'd also consider writing a change into the first tune- long song to stay on one chord progression. All in all I think for your first demo it's cool.....
here's to the wind that breezes, through the treeses, up girls skirts and between their kneeses, to that little spot that teases and pleases and gives men diseases oh Jesus (said with a drunken Scottish accent)
