Dean pace electric upright
I have noticed that the Pace upright is now available, and at a really nice pirce, but I was wondering if anyone has played one. None of the music stores in my area will just carry one, and I am not sure if I want to specail order one unplayed. I really trust Dean, they make some really nice gear, but this is a new thing for them, so I am a little hesitant.
If anyone has played one of these, let me know how it plays, how does it compare to a traditional upright? How does it sound plugged in? and, No one I have asked has known if it comes with a bow, or if it can be played with a bow (I know that it shouldn't be a problem, but it is never mentioned, and I wondered if something like rosin dust might affect the pickups, or anthing like that.)
If anyon has any info, it would be greatly appriciated, I am going to have a tax refund to blow here pretty soon, and this is definetly an option.
First, welcome to UBP, stay a while, you might learn something, as for the dean, i've never tried one, but they make alot of good stuff for the price, so i would think it's at least worth a shot
+1 on what Slave said, welcome and make yourself at home. We are one big dysfunctional family round here! As for the dean, I really want one too, but nobody around here has one either. The only shop that might have one is a local high end boutique shop called guitar-X. I'm swinging by there today, if they have one, I'll play it, do the research and post a full review for you guys. But thats only if they have one.
I thank you guys, I have a Dean baby Z guitar and I love the thing, and I have played a lot of their stuff, from the Ml/Dime stuff on down, guitar and bass wise, so I have a lot of trust in them, but I am just hesitant about this, since nice uprights, let alone electric ones, are few are far between.
I was wondering about this thing too. I would like to get my hands on one and try it out.
If I can't hear the BASS to hell with the melody-
