Anticipation is hell!!!
Going to go visit(pay on) my SVT 5 I priced cabs last week. The place I am getting the head has a 4 x 10 pro used he said he'd sell me for 400.00. I may get till tax time when I can get my 8 x 10.
You guys don't think that 8x10 is overkill? I'm getting sick of lugging my 4x10 around everwhere; I can't imagine doubling that. Even if I did, I'd get a 1x15 or 1x18 under it instead of 4 more 10 inchers.
Thats my opinion mind you. Please don't go off on me for that one. I guess it was more of a rant about the fact that my cab weighs a ton. ![]()
You don't really carry an Ampeg 810 cab anywhere, you roll it around on the built in casters like a dolly,it's not really so bad I'd rather push than carry any day.hold out for the 810 cab,you won't be sorry! As mentioned in another thread you get more speaker surface with 410's than you do with a 15 or an 18. 40 inches vs.15inches or 18 inches.more surface=more moving air=big ass thump. Hope this helps.
Im holding out on putting the SVT 4 on layaway till I pay off an engagment ring in two month's. I cant fricken wait, my life will be complete. Dont tell my girlfriend I said that.
I feel ya Fugly...its almost like, the bigger the rock, the more you love her...glad ours are paid for already, damn platinum wes expensive
I run an Ampeg SVT4-pro through 2 4x10 HLF cabs. Check out the HLF cabs. They are ported for deeper bass response, and they smoke the other 4x10 cabs. IMHO, 2 HLF cabs sound better than 1 8x10 just by the way it's built. Check it out and see what you like because in the end, that's all that really matters
Yeah, you should hold out for the 8x10. It's got the kinda nugs you just won't get from a 4x10. SVT 5s are aweet though. Good choice.
