It might be a small thing to YOU
I finally ended up with the Lakland Skyline 44-02 Sunburst.. I will post the porn after the UPS truck rools in. Thanks again for all of the input. Now, I'm gonna head to the local shop and try out some basses-I think he has a new item called Black Devil and I hear they look OUTSTANDING, but you want pricey? Try $6K ... Black Devil Link
See Ya!
Dude I really did that black devil fretless bass with nothing shown but the wood itself.
I agree... picking a new bass when you haven't picked one up in a while has got to be a BIYATCH!! but I'm glad you settled on one OG.... I think you'll like the Lakeland.... but as you said earlier.. if you don't like it.. you've got 45 days to send it back!LOL!!
Finding your first bass can be a pain in the arse. It took me about a year before I found Jade (my beloved '93 Hohner B Bass V).
Congratulations on your find. I hope you like it.

Well, thanks for the sentiment. But, I joined the AF of M #7 in 1960. I wish this WAS my first bass.....then I'd have another 45 years of killin myself....
Its about my 15th bass, but, you ARE right in one regard...its a real puzzle wading through all of the hype and info just to narrow the search down to FIVE, let alone one!
BTW...CHECK OUT THESE STRINGS!!! These are some
MEAN DOGGIES!

if thats as bad as it gets, you just havent reached your 'senior moments' phase yet. I re-read something, and then forget the title, the author, and my address. BUT...I remember most of my chops! LOL
A card-carryin' pro a year before I was born... thanks for making even me feel young, OG!
(dig the avatar and tag, too... big dummy)
The last time I went bass shopping, I quite literally played every bass in every shop within a 100 mile radius, and found only one that felt right.
+1 Halfie, finding the right bass is like finding the right woman, if you go through enough eventually you'll find one you like.
I personally like going places to play with basses. The more I play the happier I am. When I actually go shopping for basses, it becomes a miserable experience because then I'm not longer just playing around with one, I'm looking to add another to my collection. That is when I realize how picky I actually am.
ALways good to hear from another geezer ugly. Glad you found a new toy to play... I agree with the others, that you really have to play a ton of basses, to find one that just Fits! and you know it when its right.
Warwick.....I played a sweet Warwick fretless last week........damn tempting to add to my gas list... but my visa card says no.....:( And my jazz would get jealous...

That is the down side to Warwick's are the price. Though they aren't the most expensie basses, you do get some serious craftsmanship with the price of it. Don't worry about making your Jazz jealous it's only a Fender..............
Just kidding, it's not really my fault I'm not much of a Fender guy. So got go off on me
I won't go off, but hey, I'm not the one playin' an instrument with a built-in erection... ![]()

or maybe I watch too much porn... ![]()
Good one Halfie!
Now it's my turn..........
At your age I'm surprised you still recall what an erection is/was................
All in good fun, don't take offense ![]()
trust me, son, the last thing left of me when I die will be my erection...
here's to one day no longer being a slave to it...
oh, and

Curious to know how much of a role Viagra abuse will play in that. ![]()

lmfao!! ![]()
its that Pinochio nose ENVY that kept me off the Warwick and into the Lakland! Heck of a deal, when the size of the hanger determines which one to buy. I guess size really does matter, cause, OOOOOOOOOOOOH Thats TOO big!
Funny how one wrong turn can send a topic far south. You guy's must have some serious ENVY if it keeps you away from Warwick's. Hell, there is alway's ENZYTE, it worked for smiling BOB. ![]()
