Bass PORN!
Welcome james... what bass have you got there? It looks like the epiphone logo on the head.
Welcome aboard James! You did it the right way come in and show your gear. Excellent!
Like Melker asked...do tell us more about that bass!
Kept it quiet till I was sure it was no scam (came from the Orkney Islands) but my 1979 BC Rich TJ series Mockingbird turned up:

I'm not one for BC Rich basses, but holy lord is that thing gorgeous. Something about double P pickups makes me drool...

Double reverse Ps. Took me a while to figure what was different when I put it next to my Japanese one.
Holy Carp! That is the most beautiful BC Rich I ever saw! The knobs are Radio Shack, but I wouldn't change them, I have a set just like them on a pawn shop Gibson SG, and they lend a nice 70's provenance to the beast. Nice score. I'll be in my bunk...
So... what are the controls on that thing.
So... what are the controls on that thing.
Standard volume/tone/3 way switch. Then the middle knob and single micro switch are a boost circuit, no battery in it now, but might use ti to hit my valve amp with loads of gain for drive. The 3 in a row are phase and series/paralell (makes a lot of difference). The chickenhead is my favourite though, varitone type thing, passively changes the sound, not just a treble cut, but fiddles around with the sound somehow, its a bunch of capacitors on the inside, one settings makes your sound really punchy, which I really like for finger funk.
It's much more pathetic then most in here, but it's a start! my next buy will be a modulus 5 string.

Nothing wrong with that Bass. I'm a die hard Ibanez fan and have way too many SRs than I know what to do with. :)
Nice Bass!
Can you get the sound you want from it, Fluff? If you can, then it's a good bass. That's pretty much the standard we judge by around here. As far as OTDOY is concerned he has way too many of EVERYTHING :D
...Hey!
It's true...
:p

pathetic, no
awesome, YES!
congrats....now lets see your other gear
haha i didn't mean the bass was pathetic :)... but some people here have some amazing collections :) the SR505 is a great bass.. i'm happy with it for sure!
my overall gear is pathetic :(... just a pretty bass and some amps.. thats about it.. i'm working on it though i'll get more pics as soon as I get some more new gear down the road. It is my newest hobby.. this is my 2nd first bass. I've always wanted to play the bass, but it wasn't until this new years I finally dove in head first and am loving it so far. Had my first lessons last week. I learned more this week then my first attempt at bass some 8-10 years ago.
Man I only just saw this - DDD would definitely fail this on BASK standards.
How many knobs and switches!!!
Uh I thought this would be a reply to Foxen's BCRich post, but it appeared elsewhere

Ibanez SR1000EFM, Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0, Ampeg 4x10, and a Pitchblack tuner in the loop.

That's Mine brand new outta the box today. She's also my first. She's a Rogue LX205b Series ii 5 string.
O'tay.....here goes.
this is what I play most days. The Fender P/J.....the (new) Ampeg drives the Epifani 210 cabinet. Its an older cab, predates the creation of Epifani's UL / PS series, its got the neodynium drivers and was rebuilt at the factory in Brooklyn according to the guy I got it from....
The Hartke is taking up space and will probably come home with me sometime soon to take up closet space as a backup amp.

the fender has had the p'ups replaced with DiMarzio Split P and Ultra Jazz,
control cavity sheilded; but still get some intermittant buzz.....she sounds sweet and has good action.
nice lookin aeordyne (or looks like one to me at least). nice porn all around
yep - its an aerodyne. I was hoping to jet the jazz p/u with the pole pieces hidden so it would be all black, but the tone is good.
I'll get my new W&T Ergon up on photobucket soon but for now it's the red one on their home page - with the side LED's

Kala Ukulele bass
Uke sized, big fat urethane strings. Upright tones. Portable. Love it.

Anyone would think you were really ugly, Darth!
That is so cool! I want one!
Someone asked for a pic of this ages ago, totally forgot what thread. My heavily modified dual mono P bass.

Wishbass!

Looks like you could smoke that thing man

It's arrived!!
Absolutely thrilled with it but...
Slight fret buzz on 2nd fret on G and D.
Easy fixed I guess, but kinda let me down a little
On with the porn...

hi this is my first bass an a amp my father in law gave me to jam on. im soon to retire the poor squier for a new Cort. i found it at a local shop and feel in love!! its identical to an Ibanez Mikro but has only 3 knobs... anywho i love this site and ill post the new bass pics next friday!

Current setup. Not changing much anytime soon(not my sdgr)
and the two main axes:
That's about all that is noteworthy besides all the other little stuff and cheap axes laying about
Thats one cool rig you got there..
Hi!
Here is my bass family...
Wow Rim, that is dirty. Quite a family indeed. I've never really enjoyed acoustic basses, but that thing looks nice.

Welcome to UBP!
I tried posting but when you go to edit insert all you can do is add a URL there is no selection to add a pic? What am I missing here? I went over and over the options which are not available until I preview my post and cannot find a insert image function other than add URL?
Reb
there is an image button just to the right of the anchor button along the top of the editor bar...
it should pop up a little window and the first line is the image URL...
be sure to enable pop ups for UBP, just in case. if you still have problems, wrap the image URL with [img] [/img] tags
regular URLs, are automatically converted when you type them
So I have to have the picture out on some photo hosting site to have it show up here? I was using the button you suggested. What I was trying to do is post pics I have on my pc. I don't have a webserver hosting my pics, is that what's needed?
exactly right. picasa (google) or flickr would work..... or photobucket.
Got rid of my trumpet from high school, a twanger and Rumble 60 amp for this, MORE POWER and I like wood.....
SW, that is one helluva sweet GB rig!
I really love the Shuttle tone.
what kind of bass is that sir? I cant seem to make out the headstock logo.
p.s. that Mockingbird way up there is quite un-BASK-tacular, but its a nice bass just the same.
p.p.s Rim, what are those holes or whatever on your MM (or is it a Sterling) pickguard? is that spots to anchor your thumb?
p.p.s.s. rock.
DDD
DDanDevious,
It is a Cortley Pbass. Actuall plays rather well. I had never heardof them and I cna't find ouut much about them. I have Goggled my fingers off trying to
find out who, what, when. All I can find out its a Lawsuit Bass.

That yamaha looks like my first bass amp....it seemed old when I got it....(sounded nice tho) then I let someone borrow it...heck I don't remember how I lost touch, but...never got it back.

Drool
Drool
Drool...
FM you'd just have to carry the darn thing.
FM you'd just have to carry the darn thing.
I know but it's so light. The Shuttle 3.10t only weighs about 18 lbs. The 212 cabinet only weighs 62 lbs.
Put the Shuttle combo in your gigbag, sling that over your shoulder, pick up your bass in one hand and the 212 in the other.
Pretty nice and powerful for a little package. (That's what she said)
Better yet, get the 4.5 pound, 900-Watt Shuttle 9.0 and a couple of those Neox 212 cabs and you could shake up an entire club without breaking a sweat during load-in/load-out. The 9.0 has a topology designed to drive bigger cabs in addition to the extra horsepower.
Okay... I'll chime in...
'98 Modulus SweetSpot 5
Alder w/ Quilt top, Trans Red
Carbon Fiber Neck, Phenolic Board, No Truss Rod, Doesn't Need It
EMG 40 TW P/U, 3-Band EQ. I leave it in Dual mode 99% of the time. Nice Growly tone.
Enjoy....

Me and my rig!
