Lots of names to investigate!
What make you of the list? Flea above Sheehan?! Entwistle at 2?! Let's argue!
Its funny how we try to rank legends..... they all have their place in my book, from McCartney and Jamerson to Bootsy, John Myung, Tony Levin, all of em... I mean ALL of those guys revolutionized the way many of us, if not all of us, look at and play the instrument.
Tom Hamilton at 100? I don't know who did the list, but Hamilton is one of the best groove bass players on the market. But I guess that is why we have lists and someone's opinion, just as I have mine.:)
glad to se geddy in the top ten ^^
Cannot be...too many not even in the top ten who should be! Still, that's one Hell of a listing!
Marcus Miller and Louis Johnson play rock? Interesting....
I hope that is not in a ranked order. Putting McCartney in front of Claypool, Flea, Rocco, and a few others is horribly wrong, but that is just my opinion. I'd say he is the most over ranked player, and John Paul Jones is the most under ranked player. Pero esta mi dos centavos.
Bootsy and Mark King... way down there? Billy Cox at 67? Jerry Jemmot at 62? Les Claypool not even in the top ten?
I don't agree with alot of this list...

For me, Myung shouldnt even me in the list... No, I cant think of anyone to replace it atm, but he just isnt good enough for me...
Let's see.... Is Hamm there? How about Duck? Any of those fellas could take his place in my book.
Definitly, top 3: Jamerson, McCartney & Entwhistle.
Entwhistle was voted bassist of the millenium, y'know?

Duck is #24, Hamm #23
Nothing absolutely crazy shocking there for placement to me...just really glad to see guys like Geezer Butler, Ryan Martinie, Cliff Burton, Steve Harris, Rex Brown and Rob Trujillo.
im realy surpriszed ellifson didnt make it higher...
Seems to be a few I wouldn't place in the rock category....
Trey Gunn's not even a bass player IMO.....He's a stick/warr guitar dude who plays in the lower register on that instrument. If that's the case half the nu-metal baritone guitarists qualify.
i think i should be at number 4

Myung comes number 1 in my controversial list Bassists who've never made anybody dance. It'll be out this fall. Featuring all those technical wizzards who, for one reason or another, decided that people were having too much fun playing or listening to the bass and heriocally thought the whole business into the ground.
where's Fat Mike and Paul Simonon? ;)
Sure, why not? I like Geezer Butler as much as the next guy (maybe even more than the next guy) but if he's 9 spots in front of Dave LaRue (not to mention 45 spots in front of Berry Oakley) then I'm not afraid to say that Mel Schacher should be in there somewhere.
McCartney at 8?!? He and Jamerson invented the instrument!
Claystool at 13 and Bootsy at 46?!?
I reject this ranking! :D
