I THOROUGLY DISAGREE WITH THIS STATEMENT!

I dont think Thorn should be awarded the thread killer award, I think that in order to calculate an accurate thread kill ratio one must not only take the ammount of threads the person has killed, but the ammount in which they have participated.

I propose that in order to calculate an accurate ratio the following formula be applied:

Thread Kill Ratio (TKR) = Amount of threads Killed / Amount of threads participated in * 100

By the aplication of this formulae we can attain a far more percise calculation of the percentage of threads a person has killed.

By these means, we can see that both Thorn and OFC can not be a part of this group, as they both have participated in far many more threads than what they have killed.

One example... OFC's TKR would be:

(OFC)TKR=38/500*100

(OFC)TKR=7,6%

Meaning: Out of all the threads OFC has participated in, he has only killed 7,6% of them, while, if we look at NWBasser's ratio, it would be more along the lines of:

(NWB)TKR=54/391*100

(NWB)TKR=13,81%

Meaning, NWB has a far greater (almost double) kill thread ratio than OFC, making him a far greater thread killer. Another detail, mentioning the fallibility of this method, is that the forum only records the last 500 threads, meaning that OFC most likeley has a far lower TKR, but without the record I cant be sure how much lower.

Now, to see who of those mentioned before was the greatest thread killer:

(OFC)TKR = 7,6%*
(NWB)TKR = 13,81%
(MYX)TKR = 8%*
(JOE)TKR = 11,4%*
(THRN)TKR = 12,4%*

HUZZAH!

As I had forseen, NWBasser had the greatest TKR, Making him the official greatest thread killer! Congratulations!

Pretty good Doc, but I do have to disagree that the numbers would be very greatly scewed by taking a larger survey of total posts by the users. Those kills were found in the previous 500 threads participated in BY EACH USER in the thread kill survey, not in the previous 500 for the forum. I first searched my previous 500 threads posted in. Then I did a seach for Myx's previous 500 and so on and so forth. (Remember how I had too much time? Lol!)

500 threads is a large enough test and it's likely that even if you went out to each users total threads in which they posted that those percentages would stay close to the same. Therefore, I agree that NWBasser is a greater threadkiller (as I said, he is totally on track to overtake myself and Thorny!) but in fairness, Thorn has still killed the most with over 500 threads participated in.

I think that if you look at it that way, NWB isn't even eligable for the contest because he hasn't reached the point of getting accurate results because the survey size is still too small. :D

No dude, you're not following me here... Using this method, NWB is the only one who has accurate results. Since all the rest have reached the maximum thread record, there is no way of knowing how many threads they have participated in, meaning that we are calculating their ratio based on a set number which isnt the true number of threads participated in.

Since both OFC and Thorn have participated in far more threads than the 500 we are using to calculate the ratio, the ratio is actually quite smaller.

By the time NWB reaches the 500 thread record, he will have killed many more (assuming the ratio will remain constant) than the few Thorn and OFC have killed respectiveley.

I mean, out of the alleged 500 in which OFC has participated in, he has only killed 38. If NWB mantains his ratio, by the time he reaches the 500 he will have killed...[(500*54)/391] = 69,05 threads!

See what I mean?

I got what you're saying. I agree that it's NW based on the percentages. I also think though that the longer a poster is here, the less and less likely they are to kill a thread. I think that the reason for OFC being the lowest killer of the 5 is that whenever he says something, someone else responds with something to the effect of OFC, you're soooo wise! or thank you for changing my life with your post, OFC! :D

You tube has a lot of video footage revealing some of the stuff he does but I don't see too much that is concrete..........The short levitation trick from the floor to a chair etc, he does with fake pant leg and shoe.......The big one? I dunno! Magnetics is my guess!

LOL...Yeah Boggy Creek be scarey! No, Boggy Creek is in Florida I think! I live on Contraband Bayou, where Jean LaFitte the pirate, hid his gold and hid from the Spanish armada! Bayou's are narrow inlets of water with beautiful wildlife and a lot of Oaks with Spanish Moss hanging, and Weeping Willows....Plenty of fishing too! :)

We have been down to the swamps often and done some crawfishing, that sort of thing, and I always managed to find the water mocassins...I hate SNAKES! So, I chop their heads off and scream at em!..:D Hard part is seein the gators swimmin for ya!..:eek:

LOL...Joe, I'm really a very mellow and peaceful person most of the time, but I was raised to be aware that other's are not always peace loving! I have to be alone a lot. I live in a mixed neighborhood of the good, the bad, and me, the ugly, and I've had several years of Martial Arts training...Never hurts to know how to protect yourself! My daddy raised us by putting a hand gun in our hands when we were very young........We shot of course, SNAKES, cause there are so many poisonous ones down here. Learning to shoot, slice, dice, hit, punch, grapple, and RUN like heck, was a part of our growing up!

We took Jujitsu, Ninjutsu, and Hoshin........We are licensed to teach Hoshin Tao Chi Kung.......I am very good with a sword! :)
