Well it didn't quite happen like that. :p

I found out yesterday that I am now definately going to deploy overseas sometime in March of next year. It's something that's been up in the air for a while but now its confirmed.

I'm looking forward to it actually because this is something I've wanted for a while now. It's the best opportunity for me to get out of debt quickly so I can go to music school like I want to do. It's been about 5 years since I've deployed before and it's about time for me.

Don't worry too much about me guys, I'll be deploying with a headquarters unit so I'll probably end up sitting pretty in Kuwait dealing with top brass and what not.

awesome... im having a feeling my number is going to come up here soon... my rotation cycle begins in Jan so I could possibly get orders to the desert sometime this holiday! I guess we shall see...

During Operation Desert Storm my ship pulled into Bahrain. At a Hilton or some other such hotel, I sat down at a baby grand piano and tried to show my drunk friend how to play the other half of Heart and Soul. (I know, most people hate it, including me now. :) ) Anyway, these two cutie Kuwaiti chicks come up and one of them says, I can play that. So we jammed H&S on the baby grand. And we talked about the war. They thanked us for being there. We hung out and talked for awhile and they were really cool. I will likely never forget that.

Keep your wits about you BP. You're a bright guy. I'm sure you'll be fine. My thoughts will go out to you, of course.
