Sparky's moving back to Oz.
In shock....the sigoth just got an email from the consulate and we've got the all clear for her Australian visa so we can now move there. I haven't lived there permanently since 1996 so it'll scare the living hell out of us for a while.
What is really bizarre is that the Aussie Consulate in London only got the application yesterday! People normally wait months to hear anything back but for them to turn it around in a day is nothing short of amazing. We front loaded it by submitting her medicals and character checks to cut down on the wait times but we're still amazed. Living in Ireland you get used to inefficiency, but a 24 hour turnaround is taking the piss!
We're now faced with the mammoth task of organising the move, quitting our jobs and telling our families (hers are here in Ireland, mine in Oz) so we'll break at least one set of hearts and hopefully heal a few more.
Should be in Oz circa late Feb or early March. Surfer....I still owe you a beer mate!
Cheers,
Simon.

Way to go Sparky!!
Coming back to Melbourne??
Look forward to seeing you again.
Btw Vinnie are you sure there's not a bit of Celt in you??
You quoted a third of the ancient greeting:
'May the sun be in your face, the wind the wind at your back, and the road rise to greet you'
(or something close to it)
Yep, back to Melbourne. Wouldn't live anywhere else in Oz to be honest. It will be rather weird.
Already lining up my first gig with an old mate/mentor in March. I don't think he knows a single tune written after I was born. Should be um.... interesting... :D
wow dude, thats a hefty move you have ahead of you.
good luck, make sure to pack up your studio nice and tight... movers suck.
rock.
DDD
yep....a big move. Luckily we don't have any furniture we're taking with us and everything can be boxed and freight shipped. I had to ship my gear when I moved here from England and nothing damaged then, so hoping for more of the same. I'll make sure we're insured up the wazoo, so if anything does get damaged I'll have a brand new stick or desk.
May the wind be at your backs with your new adventure.:)
