Victorian Bushfire Appeal

First up, I'm gonna appeal to Slade to keep this thread alive - mebbe even sticky it.
Yes, I am hustling you guys, but read on and perhaps you'll understand.
Some of you may have read about the bushfires we've been having.
Here's some news articles if you haven't

Aussie troops have been helping out your troops in your conflicts, and I guess that's just what mates do for each other. If you wish to help out your mates in Australia, please go to the red cross site and donate:
There is so much tragedy here, it's hard to even come close to explain how I feel about it.
I still haven't been able to contact my mate from Kinglake - he's still missing along with his girlfriend and 2 year old daughter.
Thank you for reading this. I'm sorry I have to ask for your help.
I don't think you have to worry about hustling some charity from us, it's never a problem.
I'll help as much as I can.
+1
It's ashame I am not there, because I have assets to give away by the score. Sheets, blankets, dishes, clothing, furniture, you name it, but cash is short, however, I am going to donate what I can and more as money comes in........
I just watched the reunion of a man and his wife on CNN video and it brought tears to my eyes.......This is such a sad and cruel event!:(
spent about a month in so.cal. clearing fire trails while I was stationed at camp pendleton
absolutely necessary in arid and semi arid places where wild fires don't even need an excuse to get started
I was told that a cigarette flipped from a car window started one of the biggest brush fires in so.cal history
Hopefully you'll get some real help in the form of rain
until then, here's prayers for you and yours
and I'll send something to the red cross
Thanks for the support guys.
S0 far we've managed to raise nearly $AUD 100M, which isn't even a drop in the ocean compared to what's required to rebuild (billions ) - but people are really finally showing some community spirit, something that's been lacking here for some time.
Last night the moon was bright red, and the air is now thick with the smell of smoke, and will be so for a while.
They have managed to catch an arsonist responsible for one of the fires and 21 deaths (from up to 200 confirmed dead so far)
I really appreciate the support.
Still no news from my mate and his family.
Scuurvy are playing a benefit show soon for the victorian fires, we're donating the money from anything we sell too, Some of the stories i've heard from down there are enough to make even me a bit teary.
I wish i had more money or something i could donate.:(
