On vacation..going to bayfest
Hey guys, it has been a while since I last posted because I've been dealing with a bunch of stuff at work as well as moving into a new place over the last couple months. I have the next week off from work and later this week I'm heading to Sarnia Bayfest to see The Trews, Counting Crows, KISS, Stone Temple Pilots amongst others..really looking forward to seeing STP as I grew up listening to their music and their bassist is solid. Should be a good time! Hope you guys are enjoying the summer!

Sarnia is in southwestern Ontario (Canada) about an hour from where I live (London) and across from Port Huron, MI

Bayfest was great! KISS was everything I expected it would be..more pyro then a Canada day show, Gene licking his bass and flying up to the lights at the top of the stage, paul stanley flying over the crowd, and really ridiculously loud music. Stone Temple Pilots were unbelievable, their bassist definitely is not buried in the mix and sounded phenomenal, Scott Weiland sounded great and their show did not dissapoint. Dean Lickyer who is a local band from Hamilton (all about 19 years old) put on a really good show and I suggest you check them out @ myspace.com/deanlickyer (their ugly is solid as well!). They're bringing back a classic rock sound, which is oddly refreshing these days. Our Lady Peace put on a great show thankfully playing a lot of their old songs that I grew up listening to. The lead singer decided to position himself directly infront of me while singing one of their songs which was interesting. The Trews also put on a great show and I'd like to see them play live again.
To finish off here's a pic that KISS took at the end of the show!
MAN..I am so JEALOUS...I wanna go to Canada,.You guys get all the cool big shows...Glad you had fun ...What a cool show to be able to see! :)
Yeah it was a lot of fun. We used to have to go atleast to Toronto for good shows but now we get a lot of big acts in London, right where I live, or in the surrounding area. I'm hoping to see the Tragically Hip (really popular band here in Canada, atleast) and the Eagles of Death Metal later this month. I'd love to see Masters of Reality come through the area since they're releasing an album in August but they seem to stay in the US for the most part...I can dream, anyway!

Funny story. I ran into their ugly at a gear store near me as he was trying out a Trace Elliot rig that he eventually purchased. I got to play his Geddy Lee signature while he stood back and heard the rig. What a rig it was!

Where is Sarnia?
