Truly inspirational
This is a video clip that means so much to me. For a lot of reasons, too. This is a truly gifted athlete/artist that got his start as a child prodigy in skateboarding. He fell into the same trap that awaits many of us. Drugs, alcohol etc. He emerged from it all years later, and this is what he's given us.
The skating is incredible but is perfectly augmented by music from Band of Horses. Some of what they do feels like perfect theme songs for me.
Enjoy the video.
Very cool. That's just amazing to watch.
I like that music very much as well.
Fine camera work too.
Will watch when I can get to Youtube.

My wife and I went to The Bite Of Seattle this past saturday. They moved the skatepark to a different location and were having a demo. There were a few cameramen taking shots of the skaters. Overall there were 3 good skaters there, of the 6 or so int he demo. One of the guys getting filmed was a whinny baby. Every time he tried a trick, he bailed. Then he looked at the camera and made some excuse...that kid was coming and threw me off, etc, etc, etc. The guy on the camera told him he needed a shot of him at the park for his sponsor and the skater kept whining. He was about 22 years old or so.
I was sponsored from 90-92 till I joined the Navy. This skater annoyed the hell out of me. He was the kind of guy that is a total jerk, and any time in the spotlight made him even worse.
I told my wife we needed to leave.
She didn't catch it, but the guy came to do a tailslide near us. Right when he went to ollie, I made a loud 'wop' sound. He bailed (big suprise).
I told her we needed to go because I could not help myself from making it my mission to mess this guy up on every trick he tried. No doubt he would throw his board at me and hit my wife in teh head. Then I go to jail for assaulting someone.

Beer is not simply a means of drunkenness nor is it merely a lubricant to grease the skids to sin. Beer, well respected and rightly consumed, can be a gift of God. It is one of his mysteries, which it was his delight to conceal and the glory of kings to search out. And men enjoy it to mark their days and celebrate moments and stand with their brothers in the face of what life brings - Stephen Mansfield, The search for God and Guinness
