Well I officially have all the symptons for the H1N1 Flu virus and im gonna have be staying cooped up at home for a whole week. This sucks! I can only keep myself entertained by movies, games, practice, and internet for so long before I start going crazy.

thanks man, bad choice of title I guess, I think I have it but I dont know for sure, I cant get tested because my mom wont let me go anywhere because shes so convinced I have it for sure.

That's pretty silly if your mom won't let you get it checked out to find out if you actually have H1N1 and not just a flu bug. Better to confirm it then to panic over potentially nothing.

H1N1 or regular flu , the symptoms are the same ...
body aches , fevers , sluggish , sneezing and coughing , etc.
just stay home , stay warm , get plenty of rest , drink plenty of fluids , take aspirin .
that's about all a doctor will tell you anyway ... there's no cure for the flu .

Is it still an issue in the states? Over here, a bunch of people (that I know) have had swine flu, and realised its just like normal flu, for a bit less time and not as bad, so everyone has fgot on and started ignoring it. Its just made some people realise that flu is pretty horrible, and not what you catch by drinking lots of beer and having to be up for work the next day.

Yes.
But it's mostly because of the media. The media is a shareholder entity, and making profits is goal #1. Because of that our media constantly finds a way to make sure we are glued to the news. Swine flu is a fear tactic to evoke emotion, and therefore a compelling impulse to watch the news. They use whatever they can to make the general public watch so they can sell more commercials and make more money. Doesn't really matter to them if they are making people mad or afraid as long as their bottom line looks good.

Ostensibly, that's what I had about a month ago. I had flu symptoms and the word out then was if you showed symptoms, it was the H1N1. I didn't bother with any sort of testing, because it wouldn't have made any difference.
I layed around and watched my Rush DVDs and listened to Victor.
Didn't have the energy to pick up the uglystick.:(
While I'm sure the dangers of H1N1 are grossly overstated in the media, having any flu just plain sucks.

It does get overblown quite a lot. People may not realize it but world wide around 500,000 people die from the REGULAR flu. In the united sates I believe 20,000 people die from the regular flu every year. Its been a while since I've looked up the statistics.
A lot that do die often have other factors that contribute to their deaths, like compromised immune systems, & other health problems.
In 1976 during another swine flu scare, only one death attributed to the swine flu of an army private. The fact that he was on an 7 mile march might of had something to do with it.
After his death there was a rush to get a mass inoculations. Turns out 30 died from a rare neurological condition due to the vaccine. 500 did get the same neurological condition but eventually got better. But some did not fully recover and still have health conditions due to the vaccine.
you have symptoms or have you been actually tested and found positive? two entirely different scenarios.... either way if you're sick I hope you feel better soon
