New music up!
Hey all, just received the tracks back last week and almost forgot to post them up here! PLEASE give a listen and let me know what you think! Honest opinions only, I don't look for an ego boost. :) I'd rather someone tell me what I/we need to work on in their opinion than lie to me and make me feel good about myself. That's how idiots show up on American Idol when they can't sing. Everyone around them tells them they're good!
Anyways, check it. Go to FtY MYSPACE or PLEASE vote for us on Indie Heaven under the Fan Fav's!
Hopefully you enjoy. :) I only took one pass per song. First time EVER!
I took a quick listen to the first song at work and I like what I hear. I'll listen again at home with my subwoofer and decent speakers. You got new tunes, I got new tunes, who else got's new tunes?
H
Boy, of all the times to ask for feedback. Right when the site gets hacked.
Dang, you guys sound really good.
I like the lyrics. They tell a good story. These ain't Jesus Love Songs.
Playing is good and solid, in the pocket. You did that in one take? Cool!
Production is just the right amount for my taste. Not too much, not too little.
Your vocalist is freakin' great! Soulful, real.
The cons? I listened to the first three tunes and part of the last one. The only thing I would have change would be that I might have been a little more busy on the first one. That's not even a con, it's just something to consider, I guess. Considering you did that in one take, you did just the right amount.
This stuff is good and solid to me, dude. Coming from a Praise and Worship perspective, I'd enjoy listening to and playing these tunes.
i think all of the elements work great together. no one overpowering anyone else, good mix.
maybe a tempo increase overall?
basslines are solid, but there is definitely room to get busier, too.
Thanks for the feedback. I'll take a look at it. If the first song that has room to get a little more into is Today (I can't see our site since I'm at work) then it's hard to hear the high part I play while simultaneously playing a harmony part through the verses. The Chorus is simple and straight forward. Some of our new material, that wasn't ready to lay down unfortunately, is really stretching my skills and causing me to grow which is exactly what I need.
As for, These ain't Jesus Love Songs. you're absolutely right. We are Christians but we are real too. We understand that life, with or without Christ, is never easy and we don't want to put up a hypocritical front. Life sucks. We write about what we go through. We write what's real to us.
Coming from a Praise and Worship perspective, I'd enjoy listening to and playing these tunes. Funny you say taht b/c most Praiase and Worship artists consider us.....risque? Maybe that's the word I'm looking for.
Thanks again guys! I truly appreciate it.
Nice tunes
Like most music from the genre
Sounds a lot like commercial country
The producer in me hears things to tweak (as it always does)
The listener in me liked it. Nice and solid.
Agreed eyeteeth. We had a few things tweeked for the .wav files before we sent them to production. Truth be told we recorded that in the home studio of a 17 year old. Best setup I've ever seen in a home studio and the fact that he did that at 17 blew my mind. We were skeptical, but I think it turned out pretty decent.
Home studios have come a loooooong way. You sent the audio out to be mixed? Or did he mix it, and then get sent out for mastering?
Now I'm just being nosy.
He mixed and mastered. We now have the final wav files to send out. Pretty impressiv e for his age.

No feedback, good, bad, or indifferent?
