yamaha cab?
does anyone know if this is a bass cab or not its a 6 x 10 the guy whos selling it says its a guitar cab but i havent seen a guitar cab like that. any help? thanks in advance
thanks man ill do that for sure.
does anyone know of a decent rack tuner for relatively cheap?
i was looking at the behringer rack tuner at musicians friend but i read some reviews by bassists saying it has issues with down tuning.
In my experience 6x10s are generally bass cabs and sound amazing. However the lack of a model number makes this a very hard question to answer. good luck and let us know what you find out! Oh and welcome to the forum!

Do not! I repeat do not get the behringer for down tuning. I had it and it worked ok for e-a-d-g. Low B sucked. Look for a used one. I use an older Sabine Rack yuner and it tracks well and cost me less than a hundo!

thanks alot headle i almost messed up haha.
im very new to bass and gear surrounding it. so thanks for the advice guys.
everyone starts somewhere. I happen to like my like Berhinger V-amps tuner on my 6er for my lil room, but I would never bring it out to a gig. Worst case scenario get a pedal tuner, or learn to tune by ear. try tunemybass.com if you are by a computer.
The tuner in the V-amp works considerably better than the rack tuner. I've had both. I liked the v-amp quite a bit. You are right everyone starts somewhere. The smart ones take the adsvise of those who've made the mistakes already. I'm not a smart one.

haha the V-amp is a nice little tool, my problem with it is the delay when you change patches. don't really like that if you need to change patches in songs quick.
a tuner

its cheap and will get the job done.
I had a 6X10 Mesa that was awsome. Yamaha had some bass not to long ago that did not go over very well. They had good reviews but for some reason no one wanted them.
if he gives you the serial number for the cab then you can go to Harmony Central and check what other ownners have said about it. I have heard of Bass 6 x 10's before such as the Mesa cab but not sure about the Yamaha.
Headle, you liked the Ber V-amp???
I must have done something very wrong with one I used since it sounded like *&^%. Then again, I only used it with headphones and not through an amp/cab.
And to the OP...6x10 is a fairly commond bass cab configuration.
I might not like it now. I had it right after I first started playing and it gave me some cool sounds. Now I prefer the higher quality fx.

I have heard of 4x10 and 8x10 never 6x10 but hey, I don't follow Yamaha that much either. I would recommended asking for the serial number and any info that he can give on the cab before you buy
unofficial UBP archivist. :p
