I've been without and Employer for over a year, and have... of course... been spending a lot of time in my studio. What I find myself doing more of today... is mixing tracks from people who have recorded elsewhere. Often a their rehearsal place. Typically they're 'first time' recordists trying to save money doing it themselves but they aren't happy with the results.
Actually... I've dubbed this... 'fixing' instead of mixing... as its more correction and going with the lesser of evils than anything else.
Anyway... moving on...
Practice always makes you better... so... any of my brothers that have a candidate tune and are interested in having it remixed... shoot me a message, and lets see if I can't do something for ya.
Help give my life purpose again. lol.

On the side I've been playing around with Ardour. I'm thoroughly frustrated with the Digital Performer software I've been using. Long story, but their tech support is pretty much non existent, I was left with an installation that wasn't usable for over a year, which now that they finally got it working, is now out dated. And MOTU is pretty unapologetic about it. I refuse to support a company like that. I'll probably convert to Logic in the end.
Sorry for going off topic.
I wish you luck in your search. Although, enjoying time with the offspring is nice too.

First, Eye, that's a totally cool thing that you're offering. Now I just gotta lay some tracks down to send to you!
It seems I'm now in the same unemployment boat as you. Hopefully, I can find something in my field of geology soon. But, as you may recall, I sort of expected a big economic disaster of some sort or another and planned accordingly. So this wasn't entirely unexpected and isn't too bad for me.
I've been spending lots of time with my son which is great.
With my sort of luck, I'll get a new job a bit too soon!
