Hey guys!

I will be doin a lot of air travel this summer and I'm in the market for some nice noise canceling headphones. I'm lookin to spend up to $100 on a pair. Are there any audio-files out there who have found a decent pair of phones in this price range?

not in your price range

I can't reccomend anything noise cancelling in your price range.

The active circuitry of noise cancelling and high fidelity audio in a set of headphones
really doesnt truely exist....especially at that level.

Last year I looked at a bunch of stuff for my travel. Ended up with a nice set of Klipsch
ear bud type headphones for listening in the hotel room etc.... these were about $80. from Crutchfield.

I also bought a set of Senheiser over the ear cans; that are noise cancelling active circuitry. Model PCX-450. $350, and the sound is fair when in active mode. What's nice is that they have a swithc so that you can run them in passive mode (noise cancelling defeated). Also if your battery goes dead they still operate as great senhiser headphones. Fairly comfortable, but they have a sort of lump insisde that after several hours of extended wearing, I need to take them off. Not real bad, and realistically after 2-3 hours I want to do something else anyway, get up, stretch, read a book etc.

I still use earplugs extensivly when I travel.

I just looked at the crutchfield site, Klipsch has a couple of noise cancelling bud type units for less than $100. try a pair, you get 30 days to decide if you like or return.
can't go wrong there.

Get In ear headphones

The best way to go for under $100 is to get in ear headphones which will block (isolate) most of the noise.
I'm into audiophile grade headphones and a great web site to visit is HeadRoom.com.
http://www.headphone.com/index.php
HeadRoom specializes in headphones and they have a good selection guide.
Check out their selection guide for traveling.

I haven't had to use it yet but on paper HeadRomm's 30 day return/exchange policy looks very good.
Sorry, I don't have any recommendations for a good set of in ear headphones because I'm more in to full size over the ear headphones.
However I would recommend taking a look at Sennheiser headphones.
I have always been happy with the sound quality of Sennheiser products.
For travel I use a set of Sennheiser PXC 450 headphones which are great for airplanes and for me are very comfortable.
I have flown many 10+ hour flights and the PXC 450's have stayed on my head the whole time.
The Sennheiser PXC 450's are the best noise canceling headphones I have tried and I would recommend over them Bose and Sony.
