Google Wave

I'm gonna download this and have a play..

Hey.. I've Google-waved  but my Wife slugged me and said it wasn't acceptable with the kids in the car!!!

is this kinda like facebook? 

I have soo many people nagging us to get on Facebook.  I'm just not interested, besides it seems like about once a month

or so you read some tidbit in the news about secuirty issues and Facebook. 

People will nag whether you have a Facebook account or not.
The difference is, when you have an account, you decide when to be notified, one possibility being never.
Then you can log on when you feel the social urge, and connect with those you want to (ignore the rest).
I signed up recently, and was really pleased to hook up with some people I haven't talked to for years - it's very simple to send somebody a short message, which means I do it. Email and even SMS are enough trouble for me to hardly ever bother, which means I lose touch.
And remember, Facebook can only leak whatever info you put up there. The only thing I had to enter was my birth date, and trust me, that's on the internet anyway.
Try googling your own name, and be amazed at the stuff anybody can find out in a couple of clicks. Facebook makes no difference.

go to zabasearch.com and enter your name and state....  and those are just the free results.  google also returns a ton of stuff.

i've reconnected with tons of peeps on facebook that i had lost touch with between moving and the rest of life.  some i have more regular contact with than others, but the opportunity is there.
it is convenient for me to keep in touch that way.  i'm way to digitally connected to try any other way now, aside from text or email.
