You guys have a similar set list to us.  (Ours is listed on the website if you want any song ideas)

Naming a band is my least favorite part of being in a band. 

Some things to think about:

How far do you want to go?  If you want to play bigger events and casino's a theme works well.  i.e dress up or alike.

Who's hiring you?  What will their customers want?  Use that to pick a name that triggers what they are after.  LIke The Party All Night Band or something simple that people instantly understand.

What do you guys think of the name Possum?

When threatened or harmed, they will play possum, mimicking the appearance and smell of a sick or dead animal. When playing possum, the lips are drawn back, teeth are bared, saliva foams around the mouth, and a foul-smelling fluid is secreted from the anal glands.

I think you could make a pretty killer logo with a name like Possum.

A name I thought would be fun - Grossly Overrated  or Below Average Entertainment  (joking)

A serious idea - Cast of Characters.  The initials give you some creative freedom.  There was a now defunt band here called that.  They put their logo on every beer logo they could find for their posters.

Hey Taco, the logo thing is exactly what I was thinking. Lots of possibilities for the logo and promo stuff.

The wife suggested Playing Possum, but I think it's better just Possum. Haven't said anything to the band yet.... well, one member, and he liked it. We will see.

Yeah, these are tacky ideas I'm throwing out there.  But IMHO, cover bands are all about partying and havings fun.  A little humor in the name, or something that says Come Have fun tonight goes a long way.

I always liked the name TinMan because the Wizard of Oz reference is great for the ladies and merchandising is great with the heart clock.

just a thought, although i do like just the name Possum

the best band name i ever heard was a local band named Sammy's Good Eye cracked me up every time i read it on a marque.

We eat possum all the time here in Oz.

It's great because:

1: there are millions of the litte b@stards around - there's a family that lives in my garage roof. (I find the young ones are real tender, particularly cooked on a spit over the BBQ)

2: they're vermin, so everyone wants to get rid of them

3: they're free

4: they're real easy to catch - don't even need to shoot 'em, just creep up on 'em during the day when they're sleeping.

As far as a name for a band, I guess you'd meet the criteria:

1: ok, but I aint gonna try and put you on a spit

2: 'nuff said

3: well you almost play for nothin' , right?

4: play at night, sleep in the day... that about right??

Wow... now that's a how you analyze a band name!  haha....   Well, another good practice tonight, but no resolution on a band name. We're not in a big hurry, but we're still working on it.

Hey Ti, yeah, wasn't a comment about you at all.. just about the song. It pushes my abilities a little. I'm not the fastest guy, so those quick notes are tough. It's making me work on my technique as well as my speed, for sure! Yeah, I wouldn't say I was a big 311 fan or anything, but I like a few of their songs. Not that I don't like them, just haven't listened to them much. Oh, and I like what they did with Love Song too.
