I'm changing the guard and getting a different bass.  The neck on this guy is just too slim for my taste.  Bought it at BassNW about 6 months ago for $799.  Picked up a Hard Shell Ibanez Molded Case for it about two months ago.  The case is without a scratch.  Selling it for $700.  I plan on putting it on eBay tomorrow if nobody here wants it.

width=612

Currently has Elixer Strings on it.

Bartolini Soapbar pickups.

3 band Active EQ

4 Knobs - treble & Bass, Mid & mid freq, Volume, and pickup blend.

Flamed Maple Top and headstock

Curved body and rear bout.

Mother of Pearl logo and dot inlays (dots are between low E and A), 24 frets.

Battery cover on back has latch for easy access.  (Haven't had the batery go low yet)

More Pics upon request.

Not sure yet.  Top condender

Not sure yet.  Top condender is a Reggie Hamilton Fender Jazz Bass, PJ pickup set, active electronics.  Next up is a MM Stingray.  Will shop for one after my daughter flies back on the 10th of next month.  Not really playing till then anyway.

Oh wow

I just saw it listed on the local Craigslist and suspected it might be yours.

A Reggie Hamilton?

It was my understanding that the jazz bass shape didn't work for you.

That said, I think the RH is a super-cool bass and that's what I was seriously considering before the deluxe jazz fell into my lap.

If you're around this area, give me a call and you can try my deluxe jazz to see if its smaller body and tone work for you.

Consigned.

I think I wasn't fair to the jazz shape when I started playing.  The Squier Classic Vibe Jazz Bass I had reminded me too much of a big strat, and I was playing it like a strat.  Now that I have had a good 8 months of playing bass, my perspective has changed.  I play the bass higher and my fingerstyle is way better than it was in those early days.  Back then I thought the Jazz strings were too far apart at the pickup area.  lol.  Live and learn I guess.  The Hamilton may not be my end-all-be-all bass, but for what I know now, it sure fits the bill.

Thanks for the offer to play yours, but I've been playing a Hamilton at the store in Mount Vernon, and it makes me want to jam every time I play it.  Trying it with a strap on made the decision easy.  I have a buddy who works for a bham shop and he is giving me his discount.  It shipped rom Fender monday, should be here next week.

The Ibanez is in that same shop now, on consignment.

Cool!

One of the nicest basses that I ever played was a jazz special at Hugo Helmer's about twenty years ago. It was a MIJ with P/J and active electronics. It was so easy to play that I didn't want to put it down. I was too poor at the time to get it.

My new jazz deluxe has that same inspiring quality to it that I just don't want to put it down.

My Clement is the same way. It's so comfortable and easy to play that it seems the music just comes out of it.Smile

I think you'll really dig the RH. The bass player for Kansas was playing one when I saw them and it sounded HUGE!
