live gear
What bass gear do you use at a gig?
Some of us have a lot of basses and more than one amp.
When you play live, what's your go to gear?
Here's a pic of mine from last night....

Pastorius Tribute
Silent Bass
Mesa Venture
Here's a pic of the band's stage gear....

- DR Hot Pink strings

- SWR goliath III 410 cab.
- Peavey Mark VIII head
- Boss GEB-7 EQ
- Korg DTR-1000 Rackmount tuner

Bass rig... old pic. i replaced the EQ with a Korg tuner. i just wasn't reallyusing the EQ.

The basses I bring depends on the group I'm playing with... I always bring at least two. If i use both 4 and 5 sires, I'll bring four... sometimes I bring up to five.
My faves currently are the two I've built, they always go. Then it depends on which strings are the newest for the next basses lol.

Then there's the PA system... easy to carry... tons of power. The ADAT was simply holding a place for a dual 31 band EQ... not in pic.

I didn't include the Fender Rt1000 tuner or the Boss AB switch or any p.a. equipment (I own about 70% of the p.a. gear).
silversurfer that's not our tent...
eyeteeth those racks gotta weigh a ton

Wheels are your friend. :) I got tired of lugging things around, so amost everything I have rolls now. I have a walkout basement and a ramp door trailer. The PA Rack can be broken down. I have one more rack on wheels I can put power amps into and a 150' snake if I want to seperate things or we have a sound guy. That configuration was geared towards a three piece I was in a while back and configured to be easy to move around while providing plenty of sound capable of being run from the side of the stage. Those MRX mains claim to handle 1600w continuous each and good down to 40 Hz. So, an entire PA system in only five pieces using four cables...
I've put 1400W to each of the mains once in my studio sound room... they loved it, and I had to leave the room. Waaay too loud.
For larger gigs I use my BX500 with BRX10.4 and BRX10.2 neo cabs, here it is -

For my regular size gigs I use just my BX500 with BRX10.2 neo cab, here it is -

Pic added to post above.
... the new tent!
