Hello All, can I get a little help?
I just recently reformed a band I was in before and we are doin our best to change the scene around here.( rural as H###) We are a rock band and a seemingly small commodity in these parts. Anyway if you could check our website and give me some feedback it would be great! Theres a video, pretty poor quality though, of us playin a pretty updated version of Purple Haze that is very indicative of what we do . Check us out at resin01.webs.com and tell me how you feel about the thing. Always value the opinions of other bassists after all, we are what everybody dances to, and I loves to see em shake Thanx tons, Curtis Oh by the way if you like it feel free to join
Thanx EE, you are totally right about appearances bro. The matco hat was the unfortunate result of some chic takin my fedora and well......she looked so much better with it lol. The video was shot before the bar opened so we could get better quality with the camcorder, or so we thought. We all went home and changed way before the show.
I didn't really pay attention to appearances. The playing was good. However I did notice the high school music stand. If you have to have a stand for your singer get one of the black ones with a tilt top. You can put it almost flat and use it for reference and because it's flat it won't get so noticed. My singer uses one too. I hate it but he has been using one his whole life and it's a crutch.

Band sounds really good. I dont know anything about looks, so I'm just going to say - keep it up, whatever you're doing. You guys sound tight. Changing a scene is difficult, but with luck, just getting gigs and playing around will help get people interested and start playing themselves. Good luck!
Thanks doc always great to hear kind words from other uglies! You can bet that were gonna keep doin it, At this point is just too much fun to walk away from! And thumbs up Headle that music stand bothere Travis as much as anyone but we add new songs so often that I cant really hold that against him. Hell I dont even Know the Names of all the songs we play lol.
I think the band sounds great. My only real criticism (and its not really a criticism, just a suggestion). Lose that filthy-ass
Matco hat. I've worked as a motorcycle mechanic for 15 years and I've found, through experience, that a cleaner appearance
gets me more gigs so I try to look as unmechanic as possible at my shows. Even if I'm playing at rural bars where most
of my crowd is very blue collar and they look like they just rode the creeper out from under a truck, I try to present myself as professionally
as possible.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to be a d/ck. You remind me of the way I look for 99% of my life. I just think we should hold ourselves
to a higher standard for that 1% of the time when people are paying us to be performers.
